these are 2 layers of wood. 
the first layer is the backing-which has the picture placement outlined so you know exactly where to line the picture up! As well as “picture placers” stickers to hold in place! 

2nd layer is the top piece as shown in the picture that lines up perfectly with your photos! 

comes with 6 screws that hold the frame together, these screws will have to be unscrewed in order to place the pictures!
